Turkey - 2 June 2013 @ Konya

This photo was taken at the rooftop of Defne Pension while having my breakfast before set out for Konya. It was going to be a very long day as the journey is approximately 9 hours. We were supposed to catch a Dolmus to Antalya (3.5 hours) and then a bus to Konya (5.5 hours). However, we were being lucky as the company vehicle was available to transport us to Konya.
Konya, is one of the most conservative cities in Turkey. We were told to dress modestly while visiting Konya.

We stopped for lunch break before heading to the theatre of Aspendos. The theatre of Aspendos is the best preserved theatre in Pamphylia, Asia Minor and it's the most magnificent Roman building in Pamphylia as well.

We arrived Konya in the late afternoon. After checked in to Otel Mevlana, we headed to Sifa Lokantasi for dinner. The Turkish meat pizza was really delicious and it was cheap too as this city is not as touristy as other coastal towns such as Fethiye and Kas.

After dinner, we walked along the main street of the city centre and it was really quiet, shops were closed on a Sunday night. We walked towards the Alaeddin Tepesi, a man-made hill located in the heart of the city. There is a mosque sitting on top of this hill but we didn't get to visit it as it was closed at that time. However, we had gone for a cup of tea at one of the open air lovely tea gardens and chilled out.
