With much reluctance, we left Pamukkale and moved on to Kayakoy. The bus ride was about 5 hours or so. We were staying at the Makri Pansion run by a family of three and the host is also running a butcher shop. We stayed here for 2 nights and I really enjoyed our room as it's pretty new and spacious. This area is rather remote as we couldn't go anyway without the taking the dolmus (shared taxis). However, I had a great time here as I immersed in the solitude of the area, far away from the hustle bustle of the city life and hoards of tourists. Even the cat and dog getting along well.

We had an orientation walk in the Ghost Village in the afternoon. The Ghost Village was abandoned followed by the population exchange agreement signed between the Turkish and Greek governemnt in 1923. The population swap involved over a million people on both sides and was considered the largest ever. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the abondaned Greek churches in Kayakoy as it was closed for restoration.
